THE LIVING HISTORY CAMP

During the weekend we created a Living History encampment in the ground of this National Trust Property.  During the day the public were able to meet Pikemen, Musketeers and Camp Followers, watch the soldiers training with pike and musket, and have a go themselves.

 THE SKIRMISH

In the afternoon we illustrated the story of Sir William Croft's death at the walls of Croft Castle.  Royalist troops were retreating to the castle closely followed by the attacking parliamentarian force who showed no mercy.  Sir William is represented by the horseman in the blue doublet.
